You Want Abs?  2 Basic Things You Need to Know

So you want abs right?  Well, you already have them.  Yes, you.   We all do.   The only difference between you and the guy you see sporting that 8 pack on the beach is that he has removed all the fat that was on top of his abs.. and you maybe haven’t yet.

This is one thing I never realized when I used to train for 2 hours a day and never got abs.  I thought that the people who had visible abs were either 1.  Lucky in a genetic sense and were given abs in their DNA or 2. Did some INSANE workout every.single.day. for 6 hours a day.  I mean it, this is what I really thought.  I suspect others do too.

Here’s what I didn’t know.  Doing ab exercises allll day will never give you abs… unless you combine those ab exercises with two other things:  1. A great, healthy diet.  2. High intensity, calorie-burning exercise.

My failures were not because I lacked dedication.  I would lift for 2 hours a day, everyday.  But I still not get the slim look I desired.  What was the problem?  I was just lifting weights: bench press, bicep curls, skull-crushers.. you know the deal.  These exercises will undoubtedly make you stronger, as they did me, but you will just gain muscle, not burn fat.

It was only until i was 28 that I got visit abs!! Seriously, I mean that.  To achieve this I changed 2 things. 1.  I started a completely different workout: high intensity, calorie-burning moves, during which I didn’t take long breaks.  2.  I  A completely changed my diet:  I started eating only lean protein, tons of vegetables, complex carbohydrates.   We’ve all heard it, abs are made in the kitchen.  THIS IS TRUE!

Obviously there is much more depth to the 2 main topics I’ve started discussing here.  This is just a quick description of the 2 main things you need to realize if you want to get a lean frame!
